Armenian manuscripts still waiting buyer on eBay

The valuable manuscript by Grigor Narekatsi, which was earlier reported to have been put up to an online auction, has not yet found its buyer on eBay.

Speaking to Tert.am, Director of the Matenadaran (repository of ancient manuscript) Hrach Tamrazyan said they expect more news in this connection in the nearest future.

Asked whether their institution may buy the piece (offered for $30,000), Tamrazyan noted that they first need to consider the real value before making a decision.

“It is hard to form any idea judging by the pictures. We have to see manuscript in its real form. And we’ll make a decision afterwards,” he answered.
