Yerevan mayor opens new chess school in Armenia's capital

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan participated in the opening ceremony of a new chess schools in Yerevan’s Davidashen neighborhood, on Monday.
 
Talking to journalists, he said that the Yerevan Municipality is cooperating with the Chess Federation of Armenia in developing chess in Armenia and plans the opening of chess schools in all the administrative districts of Yerevan.

“In cooperation with the Chess Academy of Armenia we launched this program. We have opened chess schools in two administrative districts, and the Ajapnyak community will be the third to have a chess school. Renovation work is in progress now, and the school will be opened by the end of this year,” Margaryan said. He noted that the chess schools will be free.
