Armenian PM pays tribute to Karabakh war heroes

Prime Minister Tugran Sargsyan has paid respects to the deceased heroes of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) war as part of a working visit to the country on the occasion of the independence day.

Together with President Bako Sahakyan and other high-ranking officials of the country, the premier visited Monday morning the memorial complex in capital Stepanakert to lay flowers on the monuments of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of Shushi.

A solemn march was held later under the accompaniment of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army’s orchestra.

The Armenian premier and the Nagorno-Karabakh president visited later the cemetery of the Nagorno-Karabakh war heroes to pay respects to their memories. They also laid flowers on the grave of Arthur Mkrtchyan, the first speaker of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s Supreme Council.
