Bako Sahakyan attends Armenian cathedral consecration in Moscow

The president of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic attended on Tuesday the consecration of the newly-opened Armenian cathedral in Moscow.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bako Sahakyan said the presence of the Armenian Apostolic Church’s St Transfiguration cathedral in the Russian capital is very important for the spiritual upbringing of the younger generation and the preservation of the national identity of the local Armenians.

According to a press release by the NKR Presidential Office, the ceremony was also attended by Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Garegin II, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, and representatives of the Russian-Armenian community.
