Armenia to host classical concerts by Vladimir Spivakov (video)

In the frameworks of the Aram Khachaturian International Festival, the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra, led by its artistic director and chief conductor, Vladimir Spivakov, will perform two concerts in Armenia.

The first concert will be held at Yerevan’s Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on November 10. It will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of  Zareh Sahakyanc, a great violist and conductor and the founder of Chamber Orchestra of Armenia.

On November 11, the orchestra will give a concert in the second largest city of Gyumri. It will be organized as part of the series of the events dedicated to declaring Gyumri as the 2013 CIS Cultural Capital.

The concert soloists will be Alexander Romanovsky (piano, Italy), Vasily Ladyuk (baritone, Russia), Juliette Galstian (mezzo-soprano, Switzerland) and Hasmik Papian (soprano, Armenia).

The sponsors are the Ministries of Culture of Russia and Armenia, and the Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States.

The Aram Khachaturian International Festival is dedicated to the 110th birth anniversary of the great composer. Its organizer is the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia.
