Armenia should continue participating in Eurovision – art worker

The Eurovision song contest is getting less and less serious, says presenter Zusi.

Producer Hakob Hakobyan says that the contest is turning into a financial race.

However, both of them believe Armenia should participate in the contest.

According to Mr Hakobyan, Eurovision is the only song contest where Armenia can present its art and culture.

“How long are we going to remain in this pit? All the leading European countries are involved in the concept,” he said.

Mr Hakobyan is aware of a transvestite’s expected participation in the 2014 contest, which evoked a wide response in Armenia. But he believes it is a problem of the country the singer will represent.

“Some countries do not care about who is representing them. Yes, the contest is being politicized, but has Armenia any other platform to present its culture and art?”
