Armenian president attends unveiling ceremony of Unified Cross monument

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended the unveiling ceremony of the Unified Cross monument, a symbol of centuries-old Armenian-Russian friendship.

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Russian Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov, who are Co-Chairmen of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission, unveiled the monument.

A similar monument with the engraving ‘Blessed be forever Armenian and Russian peoples’ friendship’ was set up in Moscow’s Nikitskiye Vorota park in 1997, on the occasion of the 850th anniversary of Moscow.

The head of the sculptor group is Frid Soghoyan, architects are Razmik and Tigran Manukyan.
