Emilia Clarke cast as Sarah Connor in Terminator

The 'Mother of Dragons' will soon become the mother of revolutionary leader John Connor, The Daily Mail reports.

According to Deadline, Game Of Thrones director Alan Taylor just cast Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor in his upcoming reboot of the Terminator franchise called Genesis.

The 26-year-old actress - who scored an Emmy nod as Daenerys Targaryen - beat out Brie Larson for the profile-raising role of the muscular, machine gun-wielding mother.

Past actresses to tackle the revolutionary character were Linda Hamilton (T1 and T2) and Lena Headey from Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

The British beauty joins Australian actor Jason Clarke (no relation) as John and Arnold Schwarzenegger as the founding cyborg.

The Emmy-winning director also helmed Thor: The Dark World and episodes of Bored to Death and Sex and the City.

Terminator: Genesis - the fifth film in the series - will be released July 1, 2015.

The most recent chapter - Terminator Salvation - was released in 2009 to scathing reviews but still managed to earn $371 million at the box office.

The fourth season of Game of Thrones premieres early next year on HBO.

Emilia and her ensemble will find out if they score a SAG trophy when the awards show airs January 18 on TNT and TBS.
