Migration never skips Armenian journalists’ eyes –NGO names winners of contest

People in Need, an NGO which recently launched a journalistic contest to address the migration problem in Armenia, on Wednesday named the winners.

At an award ceremony in Yerevan, Jose Maria Medina-Novaro from the EU Delegation highlighted the acuteness of the problem, promising the EU’s best efforts to assist Armenia in corruption prevention.

The NGO’s regional director, Sarah Karad, said the materials submitted were of a very high quality, adding that the award event aims to praise journalists’ work.

Three journalists received prizes in the Print and Online media nomination. Three others were honored for best TV materials. The nomination for the best radio broadcasts had winners only for the second and third prizes.

Vardenik Smbatyan from the Armenian service of RFE/RL (Azatutyun) was awarded with the first prize for her material Vardenik.
