Armenian movie to be premiered at Gothenburg Festival (video)

THE ROMANTICS, a movie by Armenian filmmakers, is to be premiered at the Gothenburg International Film Festival next Monday.

The film is the first joint production by the young directors Areg Azatyan and Shoghik Tadevosyan.

One of Europe’s biggest film events, the Gothenburg International Film Festival is being held for the 37th time to feature around 500 movies by most renowned directors.

This year's event will run from 27 through 31 January.

THE ROMANTICS was produced with the assistance of the film production studio Aysor Plus, the National Cinema Center of Armenia, the Gothenburg Cinema Fund, the East European Film Alliance and other companies.

The movie stars Narek Nersisyan, Narek Ktoyan, Karen Khosrovyan, David Frantzreb, Robert Deneilyan, Hakob Manukyan, Artur Ghalumyan and Raffi Eliott.

It features the story of a young actor who prepares for a trip to the United States, but an unforeseen and absurd chain of events brings the developments to a tragic end.
