Armenian conductor Aram Gharabekyan funeral date set

The Government commission tasked with organizing the funeral of Aram Gharabekyan, the merited US-Armenian conductor, convened a session on Thursday to decide on the burial date.

The meeting was chaired by Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan.

A final farewell ceremony is due at the Aram Khachatryan Concert Hall (Yerevan Opera House) on January 9. The musician will be laid to rest at the Yerevan City Pantheon.

Gharabekyan died in the United State on January 10. He was a merited artist of Armenia and a holder of the Movses Khorenatsi medal.
