Armenian love drama puts special emphasis on Genocide - actor's view

The Romantics, the new love drama by Areg Azatyan and Shoghik Tadevosyan, focuses a special attention on the Armenian Genocide topic, says a leading actor.

Ahead of the films  premiere set for April 25, a day after the tragic anniversary, Narek Ktoyan has shared his impressions and views.

“Journalists and the civil society focus very much on what is known as ‘open scenes’, but I assure you that the boldness is reflected in an absolutely different place. The film raises much more acute questions, including the Genocide problem, so no wonder that it has been characterized as ‘political’ by several international specialists, especially in Germany. But it would be better for the authors themselves to speak on the topic. I think the primary task of culture is to heal, educate and bring up the human soul. The Romantic is aimed at introducing a cultural value, but the approach adopted is completely different,” said the actor.
