Italian artist Bruno Bruni to hold his first exhibition in Armenia

Italian painter and sculptor Bruno Bruni is in Yerevan for his first ever personal exhibition to be held the National Art Gallery.

As the artist himself admitted today at a news conference, he is visiting Armenia for the first time but has already managed to like the country. Mr Bruni said he sees lots of common features between the Armenian and Italian cultures.

“I am an emigrant, like many Armenians; my home country is Italy, but I reside in Germany now. The similarity of our cultures is first of all due to the fact that the two nations are Christian. Our mentalities are similar, and that’s also reflected in art. At the National Gallery, I saw frescos which are very much similar to Italian ones,” the artist said, adding that he is very much eager to develop a better understanding and knowledge of Armenia.

Bruni said he finds his art very legible and understandable to anyone.

The artist is also expected to have a meeting with Armenian students of art to share his talent and experience.

The exhibition, organized by Renco Group, will run through June 2. It is being held under the patronage of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
