David Dorfman Dance Company arrives in Armenia

David Dorfman Dance Company is to perform at the Aram Khachatryan concert hall in Yerevan, on Sunday.

The US Embassy in Armenia is the sponsor of the event. US Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern told reporters on Friday that one of the tasks of the US Embassy is to develop ties between the two nations, including cultural ties.

After performing in Armenia, the company will go to Turkey and then to Tajikistan. Some Armenian dancers will have an opportunity to go to New York and work with the company, Ambassador Heffern said.

David Dorfman noted that the company has got a warm reception in Armenia.

The company members have visited the Memorial to Armenian Genocide victims and Geghard. They also had a meeting with Armenian dancers and establish warn relations with them.

With respect to the company’s style, Mr Dorfman said that the dancers are using different styles.
