New rector of Yerevan Theatre and Cinema Institute appointed

The Armenian cabinet on Thursday approved a proposal for appointing a new rector of the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema.

The bill was introduced to the cabinet members by Armen Ashotyan, the minister of education and science, who unveiled a plan for signing a five-year contract with David Muradyan.

“The voting to elect a rector for the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema was held at the Governing Board’s session on June 2. Muradyan introduced his program then,” he said.

The Institute’s former rector, Armen Mazmanyan, died on January 8. The position remained vacant ever since.
