Armenian PM honors young winners of Republican Recitation Contest

The young winners of the Seventh Republican Recitation Contest have received prizes from Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan who attended the ceremony's closing gala contest to honor the top participants.

In his welcoming speech, the premier was pleased to note that the popular cultural event has over years attracted an increasing number of participants from Armenia, the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic and Javakhk. “We will try to further develop the popular event and expand its geography to involve also diaspora compatriots,” he said, congratulating the most successful participants.

Abrahamyan handed over acknowledgement awards to the winners of the top three prizes (in two age groups: 11-14 and 15-17), as well as to the youngest participant. The other outstanding pupils were honored with encouragement awards.

For their considerable contribution to youth recitations contests and festivals, Aneta Yeznkyan, a department dean from the Yerevan State Theatre and Cinema Institute, Karo Shahbazyan, the director of Hakob Paronyan Comedy Theatre (Yerevan) received the prime minister’s acknowledgement award.

Marieta Makaryan, the author of the festival project and a person in judge for the jury, received souvenir from the premier.
