Panic in Armenia natural – Eduard Sharmazanov
Armenian Parliament Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov admits panic in the country, but panic is sweeping through such a country as Russia.
“The panic can be understood, and we cannot avoid it if it has broken out in a country like Russia,” Mr Sharmazanov told a press briefing on Wednesday.
Asked if the government is in control of the situation, Mr Sharmazanov said that “one will certainly feel worried if he wakes up in the morning only to see that his wages is now enough to buy seven kilos of sugar instead of ten kilos.”
Mr Sharmazanov admits that MPs’ salaries are much higher than the average salary in Armenia, but “the problems are affecting them as well.”
The Parliament plans a closed meeting to discuss ways out of the situation.
