Armenia can submit an application for membership in the European Union in a month, and maybe already next year. RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan said this "German wave"in a conversation with Sputnik Armenia.

According to the minister, a law has been adopted in Armenia, which obliges the country's government to strive for membership in the European Union.

"When we will submit an application, I cannot say for sure. Maybe next month, maybe next year. It depends on many factors. At the same time, as I mentioned, it is our official policy," said Mirzoyan.

The minister reminded that Armenia works with the European Union and has already significantly deepened bilateral relations. there is a comprehensive and expanded partnership agreement, the parties have started the process of facilitating the visa regime, which, according to the minister, is quite successful.

In addition, according to him, official Yerevan and Brussels are negotiating several new documents and have completed work on a new partnership program, and it is not excluded that it will be signed within the next three months.

"We see that RA citizens demand us to move forward. We also hear some criticism from them regarding possible delays and long procedures," said Mirzoyan.
