The current authorities of Iran do not issue any threats that they do not intend to implement. This was written by Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan.

“In response to the attack by a U.S. warship on the Iranian cargo vessel ‘Tuska,’ today the naval forces of Iran’s IRGC attacked three cargo ships that attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without Iranian authorization. Two of them were seized and redirected to Iranian ports.

According to the Iranian side, one of these vessels had connections to Israel. Satellite images showing the movement of Iranian missile boats in the Strait of Hormuz have appeared online, providing an approximate understanding of how the IRGC naval forces employ the ‘swarm’ asymmetric tactic—when dozens of small motorboats can simultaneously attack a large enemy warship, effectively neutralizing its more advanced and costly defense systems.”
