Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the “With Honor” parliamentary faction of Armenia’s National Assembly, wrote that the implementation of the TRIPP project poses direct security threats to the Republic of Armenia amid the ongoing confrontation between the United States and Iran.

“Safavi, one of Iran’s influential generals, has stated that there is no agreement or understanding with Armenia regarding the TRIPP project.

He noted that if Iran opposes the American presence in the Persian Gulf, this also means that it opposes the presence of the United States in the South Caucasus. Accordingly, within the framework of its current format, the project is viewed as a threat to Iran.

I believe that this issue has once again become a subject of discussion in Iran recently, against the backdrop of increased activity surrounding its implementation and, in particular, the increased activity of American delegations.

It is obvious that, amid the ongoing and intense confrontation between the United States and Iran, the implementation of this project poses direct security threats to the Republic of Armenia.

At least some influential circles in Iran view TRIPP not as an economic project, but as a geopolitical one, and draw conclusions based on that perception,” he said.
