The Nobel Committee is uncertain about “peace” between Armenia and Azerbaijan, or does not consider it important. This was stated by Artak Zakaryan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Council and former Deputy Minister of Defence.

“The Nobel Prize Committee has rejected the joint appeal by Pashinyan and Aliyev to award the US president the Peace Prize.

According to a post by Donald Trump on social media, he has resolved eight conflicts, while the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to a woman whom nobody knows and whose reasons for receiving the award are unclear.

Various sources note that the woman who received the prize is better known as a supporter of Hamas and an advocate for its interests.

President Trump’s post makes it clear that he is also offended by Norway and angry about what has happened. He noted that he acted on behalf of the United States in resolving the conflicts. The United States and its president should have received eight peace prizes, one for each conflict resolved.

Can we conclude that, by rejecting the joint appeal by Pashinyan and Aliyev, the Nobel Committee is uncertain about “peace” between Armenia and Azerbaijan, or does not consider it important? I believe this may also be a factor.

The same way it has been uncertain in previous years about “peace” between Iran and Israel, Israel and Hamas, or Pakistan and India when deciding on the awards. President Trump also includes these conflicts among the issues he claims to have resolved, for which he expected to receive the Peace Prize.

In previous years, the following individuals and institutions appealed to the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award the Peace Prize to US President Donald Trump: Norwegian Member of Parliament Christian Tybring-Gjedde, US Congressman Darrell Issa, the government of Pakistan, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, and US Congresswoman Claudia Tenney,” he noted.
