Renowned Armenian actor Sos Sargsyan’s 85th birthday anniversary

Renowned Armenian actor Sos Sargsyan would have turned 85 today, October 24.

In an interview with Tert.am, actor Yervand Manaryan said that Sos Sargsyan did not usually mark his birthday anniversaries because he was modest about it.

“I cannot remember Sos Sargsyan has ever marked his birthday anniversary. If his friends remembered the day, they could organize something,” he said.

With respect to the actor’s contribution to Armenian cinema and theater, Mr Manaryan said:

“His performances were a source of national spirit. I felt an Armenian man was on the stage, not just a talented actor. He brought national spirit and taste to Armenian theater and cinema, especially during the period when no effort was spared to expand the influence of the Soviet spirit everywhere.”
