Yerevan hosts charity exhibition in aid to Syrian Armenians

The Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues, in collaboration with the Armenian Red Cross Society, on Wednesday opened a charity exhibition-fair in Yerevan as part of an initiative to offer aid to compatriots from Syria.

According to a press release by the Ministry of Diaspora, the event, entitled the Spirit of Syrian Armenian Culture, has attracted Armenian embroidery masters and confectioners from Syria. It has also been joined by Syrian-Armenians who have founded their own business in the country.

Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan delivered an opening speech, addressing her best wishes to all the participants. “You are in your fatherland, at home and on your own soil, so we are doing all our best to help you develop your business, improve skills and have new achievements, and bring to life new creative ideas,” she said.

Congratulating the attendees on the coming Christmas holidays, the minister said she wishes the coming year to mark a period of revival, development and progress for the Armenian statehood.
