Marilyn Manson streams online album in full

Marilyn Manson is streaming his upcoming album 'Pale Emperor' online before its release on January 19, Nme.com reported.


'Pale Emperor' is Manson's ninth studio album and the follow-up to 2012's 'Born Villain'. Listen to the record in its entirety on the Metal Hammer website now.


Manson previously told NME that he feels more confident about the new album than any of his releases since 2000’s 'Holy Wood'. "The album feels tied in to the fable of Mephistopheles, where life is fated. I haven’t felt this way since 'Holy Wood', where fate has brought things together for a reason," he said. "It feels as if things were meant to fall into this exact place. This isn’t the ultimate of what I can achieve, but I’m showing proper respect for myself and what I’ve created in the past. It’s what was meant to be."


Last week, Manson also claimed that he is responsible for inventing the term "grunge". The rocker said that he coined the phrase, which has become synonymous with the popularity of Seattle's alternative rock scene in the '80s and '90s, when he was working as a music journalist and reviewing Nirvana's debut album 'Bleach'.


"I hated rock'n'roll when I started. It was on the cusp of grunge and a lot of bands that I used to call 'commonist rock' because everyone wanted to be like the common man with the flannel shirts and Pearl Jam and their fight against Ticketmaster and all this horse shit," he said.


Manson added: "Nirvana was different. That was one of the bands I covered first as a journalist and I’m just going to go ahead and say I coined the term 'grunge' in a review of 'Bleach'. You’re welcome."


Manson's only confirmed UK show is on June 13, when he headlines the second stage of Download Festival, the same day that Muse head up the Main Stage.


On December 5 last year, Manson guested at The Smashing Pumpkins concert at London's KOKO, performing 'Third Day Of A Seven Day Binge' and 'Ava Adore'.
