Armenian veteran anchor honored with Culture Ministry Gold Medal

Nara Shlepchyan, a veteran TV anchor honored as People’s Artist of Armenia, has been awarded with the Ministry of Culture’s Gold Medal on the occasion of her 80^th birth jubilee and for her long-lasting contribution to the development of Armenian television.

Citing the Ministry’s Public Relations Department, the state news agency Armenpress reports that that the honor was handed over to the TV legend by Arev Samuelyan, a deputy minister of culture.

Nara Shlepchyan was born in Yerevan in 1935. A Graduate of the Yerevan Brusov State Institute of Russian and Foreign Languages, she started her career in television since the opening of  the first studio (Public TV Channel) in Yerevan in 1956. She has anchored and authored very different broadcasts in most various genres.
