Yevgeny Kissin to back Genocide recognition cause
World-famous pianist Yevgeni Kissin has responded to Armenian journalists’ proposal for joining the Genocide recognition and condemnation efforts.
“I am certainly ready to back [the cause] but haven’t had the occasion to talk to anyone on that, so I cannot judge others,” he said at a news conference in Yerevan when asked to comment on the possibility of a united call by internationally-acclaimed artists.
The musician will not be in Yerevan on April 24 as he has a program of concert tours. “But I will attend the May 26 Armenian Genocide concert at the New York Carnegie Hall,” he said.
