Theater workers concerned over shrinking audience
Theater audience has shrunk as compared with previous years, Nelli Shanazaryan, Deputy Director of the National Academic Theater, told reporters on Tuesday.
Last year, the theater planned 80 performances attended by 35,940 spectators, but it gave 92 performances attended by 37,259 spectators.
“Intellectuals mostly attend performances, and we know that their living conditions are very grave,” Ms Shahnazaryan said.
Renowned art director, Professor Nikolay Tsaturyan believes that an “Armenia without Armenians” policy is being implemented in the country.
“This program is being promoted and we are going to lose our audience soon. It is because there is an order not to bring children to theater,” he said.
