Armenian MPs attend Cultural Week events in Tokyo
A delegation of Armenian parliament members, led by Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov, on Friday took part in the Armenian Cultural Week held in Japan’s capital, Tokyo.
The event, dedicated to the Armenian Genocide centennial, featured the leading international publications that made the big tragedy a front page news story in their editions.
According to a press release by the National Assembly, the delegation also attended the presentation of the Japanese book "Armenia as a Country of Information Technologies". The book’s author is Tsugio Makimoto, a former Hitachi CEO who now serves as the president of the Society of Semiconductor Industry Specialists (SSIS). Makimoto is also a recipient of the Armenian President’s 2013 Award for Outstanding Contribution to Humanity through IT.
