Days of Ossetian Culture have taken place in Yerevan on the initiative of the Union of Choreographers of North Ossetia-Alania, with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and Ministry of Culture of North Ossetia-Alania.

A concert by soloists of the National Opera and Ballet Theater directed by People’s Artists of Russia, Ukraine and North Ossetia Larisa Gergieva was a spectacular feature of the event. Master classes in vocalism, fold dance and acting technique were organized by Larisa Gergieva, Art Director of the Alan folk dance group Elbrus Kubalov and Director of the National Opera and Ballet Theater Anatoly Galaov.

Visitors could see unique exhibits at an exhibition of decorative and applied arts. The exhibition displays unique national costumes made by Isolda Gogichaeva, as well as puppets in national costumes by puppet-makers of the Asik company and hand-made Ossetian musical instruments.

The Alan dance group gave a solo concert, and the Armenian audience was highly enthusiastic.

“We have much in common, both historically and geographically. We are happy. It is a great event in Armenia’s cultural life. We are hosting the famous dance group ‘Alan’ and excellent Ossetian singers. I think it is start to our great creative friendship. I hope we will be able to pay a return visit to Vladikavkaz and show our Ossetian friends all that we can,” said Andranik Arzumanyan, Director of the National Opera and Ballet Theater.
