Georgia flood: Dead animal recovered from Tbilisi zoo (photo)

Rescuers at the Tbilisi zoo have recovered the dead body of an animal as they continued their search and rescue operations to eliminate the consequences Sunday’s deadly flood.

The operations involve not only representatives from corresponding authorities but also volunteers.

The rescuers estimate the chances of retrieving more dead animals very high as the swamp on the zoo’s territory still remains wet, our correspondent reports from the Georgian capital.

A great number of young people, including Armenians, have joined the cleaning activities.

Different groups are seen in the streets distributing water, bread and other food supplies among the rescue workers and volunteers.

The cleaning activities are going on under the direct supervision of Tbilisi Mayor David Narimania.
