Armenian Genocide exhibition opens in Slovakia

An exhibition dedicated to theArmenian Genocide centenary opened on Tuesday at the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising  (Banska Bystrica), reports the Foreign Ministry’s press service.


The event, entitled Armenian Genocide: Frontpage Coverage in Foreign Media, was organized by the joint efforts of the Armenian Embassy in Prague (Czech Republic), the Ministry of Culture  and the Banska Bystrica museum.

Opening speeches were delivered by Director General of the Museum Stanislav Mičev and Armenian Ambassador to Slovakia Tigran Seyranyan, who introduced both the items on exhibit and the agenda of the centennial events.


The ambassador addressed the international efforts towards recognizing the 20th century’s first atrocious crime against humanity, extending his gratitude to the Slovak National Council for acknowledging the tragedy and criminalizing its denial.
