Legendary Russian-Armenian actor Armen Jigarkhanyan, known to fans from many popular Soviet-Russian and Armenian films, is celebrating his 80th birthday today.

On the remarkable occasion, the actor’s beloved women - sister and civil spouse - have shared interesting moments from his life in an interview with Sobesednik.ru. They said he intends to mark the jubilee in a cozy and modest home atmosphere, away from crowds of people and noise.

“He never likes celebrating his birthday surrounded by many people. My brother prefers to be at home that day to enjoy silence and quietude. Though it isn’t ruled out that something unexpected may happen, as he is an unpredictable person,” the actor’s sister, Marina who has travelled to Moscow from St Petersburg to join the celebration, said.

Meantime, Jigarkhanyan’s civil spouse, Vitaly Tsimblyuk-Romanovskaya, said the fans will have a chance to extend their greetings to their favorite actor at his own theatre on October 10.

As for birthday surprises, Romanovskaya preferred not to disclose the secret ahead of time, whereas the actor’s sister said she intends to give him a good portrait as a special gift.

Jigharkhanyan is known best for his roles in the movies “Hello, That’s Me”, “Triangle”, “The Men”, “When September Arrives” etc.
