Anceloti is the next Star Trek film, say Italian media

Carlo Ancelotti is coming to a big screen, with the Italian reportedly landing a cameo role in the upcoming Star Trek sequel.

Star Trek Beyond is set to be released in July 2016 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the show and will feature none other than Ancelotti as an alien-examining doctor, Metro.co.uk reports, citing the Italian paper Corriere della Sera.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss is thought to have landed the role due to his friendship with actress Zoe Saldana, who plays Nyota Uhura in the films.

Ancelotti, who is currently on a sabbatical from football, has reportedly already filmed his cameo role in Vancouver, which is his wife Mariann’s hometown.
