A 21-year old French-Armenian has been honored with the Michelin Star, becoming the youngest ever cook winning the award.

The Nice-born chef, Julia Sefejyan, works at the restaurant Fables de la Fontaine, reports Ira-news.com.

Earlier in February, the award committee reaffirmed the honor as a factual assessment testifying to her mastery.

Julia, who has been working at the restaurant for just several months, is said to have already managed to change her approach to the French cuisine, which is traditionally characterized by the words “expensive and few”. Instead, the young chef offers average prices for food in large portions. She has her own recipes for most of her meals.

“I was very delighted to know about that [the award]. The restaurant’s owner came up to me with a bunch of flowers to tell me that I had become the youngest cook in France to have such a star. But age doesn’t matter in our sphere, as one has to work all the time. This specialty makes you more mature and successful,” she said.
