As part of the Francophonie cultural events, French-Swiss artist Felice Variny is organizing an exhibition in Armenia's capital.

The plan was announced by Switzerland’s ambassador, Lukas Gasser, on Monday.

“The Francophonie events have this year focused on visual arts. Felice Variny has a unique style, as instead of canvases, he chooses to paint on architectural constructions, making them extremely attractive and original,” he said at a news conference, thanking at the same time the organizers (Cultural Dialogue, ArmSwissBank and HayArt) for cooperation.

The artist himself added that he gives preference to geometric figures when paining. “I put the emphasis on a specific observation post,” he said, elaborating on his individual style and design.

Admitting that he has not yet managed to study the architecture of Yerevan, Variny said he isn’t for now sure what design or decoration he would prefer for different constructions. “What I have managed to notice, constructions with a pink coloring are dominant in Yerevan; I would use the silver color,” he added.

The Swiss artist is visiting the creative technologies’ center Tumo later today. The exhibition will open at the cultural center HayArt at 6:00pm Yerevan time on Tuesday.
