Oscar winner Meryl Streep has showed that there is no one she can’t transform into — donning an orange face and a fat suit to play Donald Trump, News.com.au reported.

Streep, 66, appeared at the Public Theatre 2016 Gala in Central Park, New York, as one of the city’s most recognisable faces.

She let her red tie hang low as she joined Tony-winner Christine Baranski for a duet from the musical Kiss me Kate.

Brush up your Shakespeare, traditionally sung by male gangsters in the classic musical based on The Taming of the Shrew, advises men how to woo women by reciting lines from Shakespeare.

“You’ll let me know, why all the women say no,” Streep sang during the annual event paying tribute to playwright William Shakespeare.

Streep has showed before that she can transform into anyone from Margaret Thatcher to Lindy Chamberlin without much trouble.

Suit up: Meryl, 66, looked unrecognisable in Trump's signature dark suit and red tie, layered over a padded suit, with her face painted orange
Giving it her all: The three-time Oscar winner performed a rendition of Cole Porter's 'Brush Up Your Shakespeare' alongside Christine Baranski
Nice 'do: To complete the effect the Hollywood veteran donned a blonde wig to replicate The Donald's famous barnet
All-star lineup: Jeremy McCarter and Jim Shapiro joined Meryl and Christine for the musical tribute
