Sarik Andreasyan, a Russian-Armenian director who has produced a movie on the 1988 earthquake in Gyumri, is planning a closed screening of his work in the second largest city later this month.

The director has informed the public of the initiative through a post on Facebook.

“I would like to address all my friends and Armenian media outlets that follow me. The closed screening of the film’s Armenian version is scheduled for July 25 in Gyumri. It is very important for us to get the blessing of the magnificent and powerful city that hosted the film’s shooting,” reads his status.

Andreasyan had earlier released a 26-second official trailer featuring the most striking episodes.

A closed screening of the movie, “Earthquake”, was held in Moscow in late July.
