Yerevan hosts third pan-Armenian festival
The third pan-Armenian festival “My Armenia” opened Saturday afternoon at the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, bringing together Armenian dance groups from 25 world countries.
This year’s event, organized at the high patronage of the Armenian president, is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence, says a press release by the Ministry of Diaspora.
Singers Gevorg Hachyan, Arsen Grioryan and Masis Minasyan greeted the participants with their performances.
Young people aged 25 later went on stage to share their thoughts of the independent statehood’s achievements over the past years.
Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan later delivered a speech to wish the participants a success and great achievements.
“Culture reflects our image; it is the unique passport of the Armenian around the world. And it is remarkable that this festival hosts compatriots from 25 countries, as we have dedicated it to the 25th anniversary of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence. I express my special gratitude to you for filling your spare time with art, remaining true to your culture,” she said.
