Istanbul printing house to publish Saroyan collection in Turkish
The Istanbul-based Armenian printing house Aras is going to publish a popular story collection by William Saroyan in the Turkish language.
The book, My name is Aram, was first published in 1940 in English. The central character in the stories is Aram Garaoghlyan, a young Armenian lad who resides in Fresno, California, with his family members.
Founded in 1993, Aras shortly became a unique “window” to the Armenian literature for many readers in the Turkish society. It publishes classical Armenian literature, and Armenian history (including records on the Genocide) in Turkish translation.
Aras also has books in Western Armenian.
