Moscow impressionism museum hosts Armenian exhibition

The Russian Impressionism Museum on Monday hosted the opening of an Armenian exhibition to showcase works by Armenian artists, Armmuseum.ru reports.


The ceremony was attended by representatives of the local Armenian organizations, prominent Russian art critics, and the directors of the National Gallery of Armenia and the Museum of Russian Art. Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vardan Toghanyan greeted the participants in an opening address.


Among the outstanding paintings on display is Mandelson’s Portrait by Vardges Surenyants, which the coordinators describe as the most valuable item.


The event, entitled Armenian Impressionism: From Moscow to Paris, has been the most widely covered Armenian exhibition in the Russian media over the past years.
