Istanbul-based Sayat-Nova choir starts concert tour to Armenia
The Istanbul-based Armenian choir Sayat-Nova has arrived in Yerevan on a concert program.
According to Agos, the choir is planning two concerts – one in the capital and one – in the second largest city of Gyumri. The program includes songs by Komitas.
The Yerevan concert is scheduled for Monday evening.
The 17-member choir is in the country as part of the annual pan-Armenian International Komitas Festival.
Founded in 1973, Sayat-Nova conducted its first concert tour to Armenia in 2008, performing a concert and separate musical performances in the third largest city of Vanadzor.
