'Old and New Yerevan': Unique photo exhibition dedicated to Armenia's capital  

An open-air photo exhibition dedicated to the 2799th anniversary of Yerevan opened in the capital on Saturday to bring to light the different images of the city characteristic of different epochs.

“Old and New Yerevan” is the first ever event of the kind offering visitors a unique chance to get familiarized with the city's history and current life, its old streets, districts, public buildings and traditions of celebrating different festivities. Many of the photos feature also outstanding personalities who contributed to Yerevan's political, economic and cultural development in different periods, reports the municipality’s press service.

The exhibits, taken from the collection of  "Erebuni" Historical & Archaeological Museum-Reserve, are showcased in a park of khachkars (cross-stones) next to the metro station Republican Square.
