Sergey Smbatyan to conduct Latvian National Symphony Orchestra
After the Malta International Music Festival, which brought Armenia a global recognition and fame, the national symphonic orchestra led by Sergey Smbatyan will perform a concert at the International Cello and Violin Competition and Festival in Riga (Latvia).
The Armenian orchestra’s chief conductor and artistic director is to conduct the Latvian National Orchestra on May 13. The concert will feature also Guy Braunstein, an internationally acclaimed top-class musician (violin, Israel).
The program includes Piotr Tchaikovsky, Bethoven and Alexey Shor.
The concert will take place in Great Guild Hall, a historic aedieval construction in the Latvian capital.
After the concert in Riga, Malta Philharmonic Orchestra led by Smbatyan will start a tour across Europe. From May 19 until 31, they will perform concerts in Malta, Austria and Germany.
