Bradley Cooper's 'A Star is Born' to world premiere in Venice
Bradley Cooper's highly anticipated directorial debut A Star is Born, starring Lady Gaga, will have its world premiere at the 75th Venice Film Festival on August 31, according to the Hollywood reports.
Gaga, who previously won a Golden Globe for best actress for her role in TV series American Horror Story, makes her feature film debut. Cooper, a four-time Oscar nominee, co-wrote and produced A Star is Born. The film will premiere out of competition.
Cooper stars as Jackson Maine, a seasoned musician who discovers and falls in love with a struggling artist, Ally, played by Lady Gaga. While her career takes off, he must fight off his own personal demons.
Andrew Dice Clay, Dave Chapelle and Sam Elliott also star.
Hollywood has seen three other versions of the film, previously with Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland, and Barbara Streisand in the title role.
