Armenian writer wins Golden Knight literary award in Russia

A Russian-Armenian fiction writer has been named a laureate of the 9th international Slavonic literary festival Golden Night held in Stavropol, Russia.


Armen Gasparyan won the award in for his story the “The Burial of My Astghik”.


The top prize, named after the 19th century famous Russian poet and playwright Alexander Pushkin, was conferred upon Alexander Bondarev for “Considerable Contribution to Literature”.


The award featured authors from 12 countries, including Russia, Armenia, Georgia, United States, China, Germany, Israel, etc.


Gasparyan’s literary endeavor is an autobiographic work depicting the life stories of several generations of the writer's family.
