A Russian-Armenian fashion designer has presented a unique collection of women’s clothes themed after the Armenian Genocide.

Velina Sukiasyan was among the top five designers whose works stood out with an eye-catching color combination and appearance at the fashion week organized by the British High School of Art and Design in Moscow.

Her collection, entitled “Birth of New Color”, included five dresses featuring a bold experimentation of colors against the white background, 7days.ru reports.

The original color solution was perceived as an attempt to touch upon the Genocide issue.

“Being an Armenian, I couldn’t just circumvent that topic in my collection. The Armenian Genocide issue has been troubling and grieving me since early childhood. Yet on the other hand, it was an indicator for me of how a nation can be consolidated and faithful,” said the designer.
