Bomb alert at Robert De Niro’s restaurant and New York skyscraper evacuated a day after ‘MAGA bomber’ targeted the Clintons, Obamas and CNN
Yesterday a series of pipe bombs were posted to the high ranking Democrats and the news network in what has become known as the "MAGA bomber" spree in reference to Donald Trump's campaign slogan "Make America Great Again".
Users on Twitter coined the phrase after speculating that one of the President's supporters was behind the attack.
The package was addressed to directly to Robert De Niro and had the same return address as all the other packages sent out containing pipe bombs.
The bomb squad is on the scene ready to transport the device away in a Total Containment Vessel similar to the one used outside the CNN building yesterday.
Meanwhile a second package addressed to former Vice President Joe Biden was intercepted at a post office in Delaware.
The FBI is on the scene and staff have been evacuated as that investigation gets underway.
De Niro has been a high profile critic of President Trump frequently blasting him in interviews and at awards shows.
The famously declared "f*** Trump" during his speech at the Tony Awards in June of this year.
During the 2016 Presidential election he released a video branding Trump “a punk”, “a dog” and “a bozo”.
De Niro has also in the past said that The Donald would not be welcome in any of his many restaurants.
Equally the President seems to have a low opinion of the Raging Bull star, previously calling him "punch drunk" and "low IQ".
