Michael Douglas get star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
It's a rite of passage for the biggest stars in the entertainment industry to receive a coveted plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
And Michael Douglas, whose illustrious acting career spans almost five decades, was finally bestowed the honor as he gathered his loved ones, including wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and his movie veteran father Kirk, to celebrate the momentous achievement in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.
With son Cameron, 39, and long-time friend and The China Syndrome co-star Jane Fonda, 80, also turning out to support him, the Basic Instinct star, 74, was surrounded by his nearest and dearest as he delivered a heartfelt speech at the event, the Daily Mail reports.
Michael playfully remarked: “Let’s face it, this is a great honor and I’m not getting any younger. I’m going to enjoy it with my wife and my son and my caretakers and my great-great-grand kids,” after admitting he's always asked why it took so long to receive a star.
The Ant-Man actor cut a typically suave figure for his special day, sporting a dapper navy suit, offset with a soft pink shirt and striped bow tie.
His Oscar-winning actress wife Catherine, 49, stunned in an-off-the-shoulder black dress that showed off her impressive figure. The cocktail dress was adorned with beige polka dots and was teamed with sky-high heels white heels.
