A Russian-Armenian film director who has produced a film dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the 1988 earthquake has shared his impressions of communicating with Armenian.

“What makes Armenians unique is their incredible amicability. Even a family in need will lay lavish tables as you go into their house. I don't quite understand that aspiration of sacrificing one's last farhing,” Rusarminfo.ru quotes Alexander Kott as saying.

The director admitted that despite the friendly and open character, Armenians also typically stand out with a strict and restrained behavior.

He added that the lack of language skills did not prevent him from collaborating with Armenian actors.

Kott's movie, entitled Spitak, was premiered in Moscow on November 29.
