Jason Momoa was left completely shocked by his Madame Tussauds Sydney Aquaman wax figure on Wednesday evening.

The 39-year-old Hollywood hunk got up close and personal with the lookalike statue at an Aquaman fan event in Sydney, giving it his tick of approval and stroking its hair.

Jason couldn't believe how much the wax work resembled him, admitting: 'It's just uncanny and trippy!'

The Game of Thrones star added: 'The work of the artists is just uncanny. It's trippy. You guys did a great job, it's beautiful.'

The statue shows Aquaman in his gold and green uniform, holding his trident as he crouches, the Daily Mail reports.

At the fan event, American star Jason posed with the wax figure and even put a lei around it's neck, after wearing it around.

Jason looked dapper at the event, wearing a beige suit and a black T-shirt, and eventually put his long dark hair into quirky pigtails.

The wax figure is part of the Madame Tussauds Sydney attraction, with the statue's hair taking the artists three months to insert, putting each strand on individually.

Jason is in Australia promoting his new blockbuster, Aquaman, which also stars the likes of Nicole Kidman and Amber Heard.
